Since the launch of Pitch It! LSE Entrepreneurs have invited well-known entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and respected members of the LSE faculty as judges for the different categories of the business competition. This year is no exception.
Julie McEver
Business Operations Director, UnLtd
The Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs
Julie McEver has 12 years of operations, business development and consulting experience. As the Business Operations Director she is responsible for overseeing the existing operations of UnLtd as well as leading on various business development initiatives. Prior to joining UnLtd in October 2005, Julie worked for an entrepreneurial organisation helping them establish processes as well as develop and grow their business. After completing her MBA in 2001 at the London Business School, she worked for Sun Microsystems holding a variety of business development and operational roles. Prior to her MBA, Julie worked 6 years for a consulting company who designed, developed and implemented executive training and development programmes. Julie completed her BA and BSc at the University of Pennsylvania & Wharton School of Business.
Ellen Miller

Lehman Brothers
Ellen joined Lehman Brothers in 1991, as a Director in Fixed Income Syndicate/Debt Capital Markets, where she advised clients on capital issuance in the international debt markets and helped develop the Firm's franchise in the new issue fixed income arena.
Ellen began her career in corporate finance upon graduating from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. She started as an analyst in investment banking for Prudential-Bache Securities and worked for them in New York, London and Hong Kong. She then moved to UBS, as an associate in Debt Capital Markets, first in New York and subsequently in London.
In 1996, Ellen became Head of Fixed Income Sales Development, working for the head of sales and research. From 1998-2000 she was Chief Administrative Officer for the Fixed Income Division and was a member of the Fixed Income Operating Committee.
From January 2001 to January 2003, Ellen was Chief Administrative Officer for Fixed Income Research. In January 2003, she took up her current position as Head of European Graduate Recruitment and Development. She has served on the European Diversity Steering Committee since its inception. Ellen is a member of the Advisory Committee for Management Education at INSEAD, and also serves on the Sloan Women's Scholarship Review Panel at London Business School.
She is married and has two daughters, aged 6 and 10.
Ian Morley

Ian Morley is Chief Executive Officer of Dawnay Day Brokers, a financial services incubating firm, Chairman of Dawnay, Day Milroy, an Asset Management Company and CEO of Olympia Capital Management Ltd (UK), a hedge fund of funds marketing and sales company. He was formerly Head of Derivatives and Quantitative Fund Management at AIB Govett from 1997 to 2000, Managing Director of Rudolf Wolff Fund Management, and European Director of Managed Futures at Lehman Brothers.
Mr Morley was the founding Chairman of The Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA). He works closely with a number of trade and regulatory organisations and has served on various UK and international groups involved with Indexation, Derivatives and Alternative Asset Management. He is a Member of Grays Inn, The Institute of Directors, Foreign Press Association and Securities Institute. He has advised the Bank of England, the Central Bank of Ireland, the OECD, the EU and other international institutions about the managed derivatives and Hedge Fund industry. Mr Morley is a lecturer and Industrial Fellow at Kingston University on the MA Strategic Finance course. He has published numerous articles, including Morley’s Laws of Fund Management, and has lectured throughout the world on derivatives and alternative Investments. Mr Morley graduated with a BSc Economics (Hons) from the LSE. He appears regularly on TV and radio and his articles are frequently published in financial journals.
Mr Morley is a keep-fit enthusiast, marathon runner and thespian.
Christ West

The Beermat Entrepreneur
Born in 1954, Chris West worked in the City after doing the usual teenage casual jobs. He then went to the LSE as a mature student, gaining a first class degree in Economics and Philosophy. In 2000 - 2001 he collaborated with Mike Southon on "The Beermat Entrepreneur". Published in March 2002, it achieved excellent reviews and has been at the top of the entrepreneurship book charts ever since. It has been translated into at least eleven languages. Chris has also done a great deal of advisory work for entrepreneurs and start-ups, based on the 'Beermat' methodology. More recently, he has worked with larger companies to help them with innovation and intrapreneurship.
